Kline Properties was founded in 2002, with the purchase of a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom single family home in the north campus area of The University of Texas at Austin. The company grew through a string of acquisitions and in September 2007, Kline acquired 2020 Apartments – a 103 unit apartment community located on South Congress street just one mile south of the Central Business District in Austin Texas.  Today Kline Properties owns a portfolio of 22 properties through its sister companies that include houses, duplexes, and apartment developments in and around The University of Texas and downtown Austin.

The Kline Properties Team

Kline Properties recruits, trains and supports all of our professionals so they can provide our clients with the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction. Our goal is to provide our staff with an infrastructure that is rooted in teamwork, training, continued education, and support. We are dedicated to serving you with integrity and professionalism.

David Kline – President – Originally from Columbia, SC, David moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas in the fall of 1999. David became a licensed real estate agent in the spring of 2002, and he founded the company as Davanjer Investments during the summer of 2002 before his senior year of college with the acquisition of a single family home in north campus.

Throughout the next 3 years, David grew the company through a string of acquisitions in the student housing market around UT, while also becoming a licensed real estate Broker. From September 2007 through February 2009, David focused on the redevelopment and conversion of 2020 Apartments to 2020 Congress Condominiums. During this time, David oversaw all aspects of the project – underwriting, acquisition, general contracting, and marketing.

David oversees all aspects of the company and looks forward to aggressive growth in the areas of acquisition, development, and property management.

Shannon L. Vance – Regional Manager – Shannon grew up in the multifamily apartment industry; her family has a combined total of 89 years of experience in property management. Shannon is a third generation property manager; she grew up on site and through this she’s acquired a very strong background in property management.

Shannon holds several designation offered by the NAA, in 2002 she became a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), she went on to obtain her Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS) and lastly in 2007 she went on to obtain her Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification.

Shannon has been presented with several awards throughout her career for her hard work and dedication. She won Manager of the Year through the Austin Apartment Association in 2005 and went on to win the Texas Apartment Association Manager of the Year in 2006. Shannon has nominated several times for the prestigious Professional of the Year Award by the Austin Apartment Association and won this honor in 2011.

In Shannon’s free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, rooting for the Houston Texans and outdoor activities with her three dogs.

Kerri Bryan – Assistant Property Manager – Kerri is the newest member of the Kline team. Kerri has been in the multi-family industry since 2005. She gained much of her experience while working for Gables Residential. She prides herself on her organizational skills and is excited to share her experience with Kline.

In her spare time, Kerri enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter. Between all of their many activities she serves as a board member for the PTA at her son’s school.
